Master of Divinity Program - MDiv Degree

​Prerequisite: 
Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 120 undergraduate credits with a minimum of 10 credits in counseling, theology, ministry, education, administration, music, fine arts, media communications, social work or disciplines related to the interspiritual focus-area of the graduate program proposed.

60 credits required at NETU for this program with a thesis project. *


The Master of Divinity degree is designed to prepare candidates for ministry in a variety of pastoral, interspiritual community and congregational settings.  This degree is also an option for those pursuing a graduate degree in preparation for postgraduate studies.


MASTER OF DIVINITY - MDiv

60 minimum credits required of integrated study at NETU to earn a Master's degree *      ​
  • 1 research project with thesis advisory course each semester = 12 Credits
  • Minimum three (3) semesters at NETU depending on approved transferred credits (36 credits)
  • 2 prerequisite courses are required = 16 credits (1 regular course = 8 Credits)
  • 1 elective regular course, as needed = 8 credits

Introduction to Interspiritual Studies

Entering the Gate: Foundations for Academic Research

* NOTE:  A Master’s Thesis at NETU is expected to be a minimum of 100 pages, and based upon an additional 1-2 years of studies and life-work after receiving a Bachelor's Degree from NETU or another academic institution.  The academic term “Thesis” is actually the Greek word ‘thésis’, meaning an intellectual “proposition” as a “proposal of a position”, which from the 17th century eventually came to mean, presenting academic research.

At NETU, your Thesis presents a comprehensive review and analysis of a body of research work from academic and experiential source materials, demonstrating competency in the field of studies.
