DOCTOR OF DIVINITY
Metropolitan Seminary welcomes the opportunity to receive recommendations and nominations of persons in ministry, academia or education who deserve the special recognition and honor of receiving the honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.
An honorary degree or a degree honoris causa (Latin: "for the sake of the honour") is an academic degree for which a university (or other degree-awarding institution) has waived the usual requirements, such as matriculation, dissertation and the passing of examinations. The degree is typically a doctorate and may be awarded to someone who has no prior connection with the academic institution.
Each nominee must meet the criteria established by the Metropolitan Seminary. The Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree will be conferred upon distinguished persons who have made significant contributions in their respective fields or for service to their faith community.
